Develop and test firmware for supported PADAUK single-core microcontrollers with the 5S-I-S02B in-circuit emulator. Used with PADAUK’s IDE, it lets you emulate your program and connect to your project’s circuitry while working through your design.
This listing is for the 5S-I-S02B emulator. PMS150C microcontrollers are sold separately.
Key features
- Single-core in-circuit emulation for compatible PADAUK MCUs.
- Supports emulation of the popular, low-cost PADAUK PMS150C microcontroller.
- USB connection to your computer for communication and power.
- External power and ground connections.
- I/O measurement contacts for checking signals during development.
Before ordering: Check your specific MCU’s emulation compatibility in its datasheet. Supported peripherals and behavior can differ from the actual chip. This is an emulator for development—not a replacement for a programmer that writes firmware to your MCU.
Explore projects with the PMS150C
Related microcontroller, sold separately. The following information describes the PMS150C chips you can develop with, not the 5S-I-S02B emulator.
The PMS150C is a versatile, programmable 8-bit microcontroller. Your firmware defines how it responds to inputs, makes decisions and controls outputs, giving you a flexible foundation for automation, interactive electronics, lighting and motion control, and compact display interfaces.
At just USD $0.025 per chip in our separately sold USD $2.50, 100-piece chip bundle, before shipping and tax, it is well suited to cost-sensitive, high-volume embedded products where every cent matters, once the firmware is finalized.
Capabilities you can build on
- Input and decision-making: Read switches and digital sensor signals, apply logic and manage operating states in firmware.
- Timing and sequencing: Coordinate delays, timed actions and repeated control sequences with the on-chip timers.
- PWM and output control: Generate control signals for lighting and motion applications through suitable external drivers.
- User interaction: Combine button inputs, mode selection and status outputs to create responsive interfaces.
- Compact display interfaces: Drive text, numbers and simple graphics on the 0.32-inch OLED using our linked PMS150C library.
Design considerations
Select the capabilities your application needs and verify the firmware fits 1K-word program memory and 64 bytes of RAM. The U06 package provides four signal pins (PA3–PA6); PA5 has open-drain output. Use suitable power, interface and driver circuitry, and check the official PMS150C documentation for pin functions and electrical limits. Develop and test before one-time programming.
Building a tiny display project? Our open-source PMS150C 0.32-inch OLED library includes drawing routines and an application template for the PMS150C with the SSD1315 0.32-inch OLED, using PADAUK Mini-C and IDE 1.04C1. Choose only the features you need, check the build fits the chip’s memory, and test your wiring and firmware before programming OTP chips.
