Manufacturing Technician – Miniature Electronics & Production

Questwise Ventures creates miniature electronics and electronic modules for makers, hobbyists, and people who enjoy unusual little devices. We're looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to help turn small parts into finished products.

This is a practical production role in a small workshop. It suits someone who enjoys careful assembly, takes pride in a clean finish, and can keep quality consistent across a batch.

Role details

  • Location: On-site in Los Gatos, California.
  • Employment type: Part-time.
  • Schedule: Part-time, with flexible hours. Weekly hours and schedule will be agreed upon based on your availability and production needs.
  • Pay: $24–$30/hour depending on experience.

What you'll do

  • Assemble miniature products and small electronic components using documented steps and reference samples.
  • Prepare and finish small parts, including cleaning, sanding, fitting, and painting where the product requires it.
  • Help with basic wiring and soldering as appropriate to your skills and the production task.
  • Inspect fit, finish, and workmanship; perform routine functional tests and flag defects before products are packed.
  • Pack finished products carefully and check that orders contain the correct parts and accessories.
  • Keep parts organized, track production quantities, and flag low supplies or missing components.
  • Keep the work area clean and follow tool, material-handling, and workshop safety procedures.
  • Share practical suggestions that make repeat tasks clearer and reduce errors.

What we're looking for

  • Care and precision when handling small parts and using hand tools.
  • The ability to follow written or visual assembly instructions and ask questions when a step is unclear.
  • Patience with detailed, repetitive work and a consistent approach to quality.
  • Reliability, clear communication, and good organization.
  • A willingness to learn our products and production methods.

Helpful experience

Experience in any of the following would be useful. You don't need every skill on this list.

  • Small-product assembly, electronics assembly, repair, or hands-on production.
  • Soldering, basic wiring, using a multimeter, or troubleshooting simple electronic issues.
  • 3D printing or finishing 3D-printed parts.
  • Model making, miniature painting, crafts, or other work that calls for a careful finish.
  • Quality checks, packing, or keeping track of parts and inventory.

Relevant personal projects and hobby experience are welcome. No specific degree is required.
